Buddy
I have to tell you how lucky I am to have found Professional Pet Services, and Kathy especially. I met her at the park one Saturday, after a very upsetting meeting with a crazy dog "trainer" who made me cry. I was facing the possibility of having to put my dog to sleep because of his increasing aggression. He had bitten my boyfriend so badly we had to rush to the hospital. My vet thought it would be a good idea to put my baby down. I was heartbroken, to say the least. I wanted to do all I could to help him during the mandatory 10 day waiting period after a bite. It was then I met Kathy at the park. I didn't realize she was a dog trainer at first; we were just chatting. I was so upset about my situation, I was sharing my sad story with her. She then introduced herself and explained that she could probably help. She invited me to join the dog pack walk in the park right then and chatted with me while we walked. Both she and Laurie were shocked to hear the vet's recommendation and assured me they could help. Kathy came right away that week for a dog training session where she showed me how to walk and interact with the dog in order to establish my dominance over him. She explained pack mentality and positioning within the pack and how the dog acts in relation to his status in the pack. Apparently I had been a weak leader, so he stepped up to fill the top dog slot. I gave lots of attention and affection with no direction. Within minutes she had control over him just like Cesar, the Dog Whisperer. Laurie came the next week and worked with me while Kathy was out on leave. Once Kathy was back in action, she started to take Buddy twice a week to the dog park for playgroups with the other dogs and further training. I have seen remarkable improvement in his behavior.
I hate to think where I or the dog would be right now if I hadn't met Kathy.
Did I mention her sense of humor? :) in addition to her skills and knowledge, she is one of the funniest people I have ever met.
I feel completely blessed to have met Kathy and Laurie of Professional Pet Services and feel completely comfortable recommending them to anyone with dog issues. They saved my baby's life. -Amy E. Yentsch, Duxbury
Phoenix
Since the arrival of our dog, Phoenix, to our home in September 2007, we believe that we really lucked out when we made our initial inquiry to Professional Pet Services. We’ve been extremely fortunate to have Professional Pet Services working with us in his care and training. Laurie Wagner introduced us to her co-worker, Kathy Reney, early in our relationship with PPS and we could not be happier. At every occasion, Kathy has been even more than we could have hoped for in terms of both care and training for our dog. Kathy treats Phoenix as if he was her own and in terms of training, she is extremely patient with both Phoenix and us! Using calm assertive training techniques, her approach is always a measured, methodical process with wonderful results. In just a short amount of time, she has carefully educated us by showing us how to work with our dog to help make him into a terrific animal to share our home with and to be around. We cannot recommend Kathy strongly enough in addition to the overall care provided to us by Professional Pet Services.
