My Story
I was born in March of 1999. My mother was mostly German Shepherd, with a grandmother that was
black lab. My dad was purebred Shepherd. That is why my ears flop. I met my mommy when her next
door neighbor, Dave was looking after me, as I needed a home. When Mommy saw me in his yard, "it was love
at first sight" she said. I was a scared little 18 lb. 10 week old puppy, too timid to climb down stairs..
Funny considering what a big girl I turned into!
We were living in Salem back then. We didn't have a yard at all, so I spent most of my time playing in the cemetary across
the street with Dave's bulldogs, Otis & Brutus. We also went to the Salem Common a lot to play with my friends.
When Mommy started to walk other people's dogs, at first I got jealous, but then got used to her coming home
smelling like other dogs. She was walking a dog, Sadie, whose parents found a little kitty on the street that they brought inside to care for.
Well, he fell in love with Mommy & followed her around the house all the time she was there to walk Sadie. Mommy asked
if he needed a home, because she wanted me to have a friend. This is how Jeffrey came into the family.
My favorite things to do:
play ball
play ball
play ball
get a belly rub
play ball
I help Mommy on the job these days. She takes me to Bay Farm with her doggies & I give them "a talking to" when they get out of line. Once they hear my scolding, they are usually much more attentive to my mommy. People walking with us are always telling her how amazing I am that I can control the dogs. I think it is just a no-brainer. They know I mean business & don't talk back to me!
I also help Mommy during her training sessions to help other dogs become what she calls "balanced". (I call it NORMAL!). When doggies' mommies & daddies give them all sorts of treats & loves without the right guidance, the doggies get all confused. They even lash out at me sometimes, but I know Mommy wouldn't let me get hurt, so I just sit back & let her do all the work. I just have to look good- very easy!
